The Calvert County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) is conducting an active death investigation following the discovery of a deceased 61- year-old male on August 11, 2026, in the rear parking-lot area of a vacant business in the 11700 block of H.G. Trueman Road in Lusby, Maryland. Responding personnel located the individual face down on the ground. The condition of the remains indicated significant decomposition. Personal property believed to belong to the deceased was found nearby. Detectives learned that the deceased had reportedly been experiencing homelessness and had recently stayed at a residence in Lusby. During the investigation, authorities were informed that the deceased had been asked to leave that residence and intended to stay in a wooded area behind the vacant business where he was later located. Crime scene personnel documented the scene, conducted an external examination of the deceased, and inventoried property located at the scene. The deceased was transported to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner and the case remains open pending the results of the autopsy.
