On August 5, detectives assigned to the Criminal Investigations Division arrested Terrell Lamont Thompson, 18, Waldorf, in connection with a murder case that occurred in White Plains earlier this year. The details of the case are as follows: On April 1 at approximately 2:54 a.m., officers responded to the area of Enid Blyton Place for the report of the sound of gunshots. A preliminary investigation showed a group of subjects became involved in a dispute, during which multiple gunshots were fired and Tyon Makai Bias, age 19, of White Plains was struck. Bias was transported to a hospital where he was pronounced deceased. Through investigation, detectives developed Thompson as a suspect and presented the case to a Charles County Grand Jury, which returned an indictment charging Thompson with first-degree murder, second-degree murder, and other related offenses. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued, and Thompson was taken into custody without incident. He is currently being held at the Charles County Detention Center without bond. Detective Sapienza is investigating.
