Closings for Tuesday, January 26th

Anne Arundel County Public Schools: School buildings will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28. A Code Red is in effect for employees. Unit V and Unit VI Central and Satellite Office employees will work remotely on Tuesday, January 27, and Wednesday, January 28, with supervisors providing work requirements. Unit III Facilities, Operations, and Maintenance personnel must follow the terms of their negotiated agreement and report to work locations as required. Additional guidance regarding reporting requirements will be communicated to impacted employees. With the exception of Unit III employees who are required to report to work locations, no AACPS employees should attempt to travel to AACPS facilities.

Calvert County Public Schools: Closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Buses will not run and students should not report to school. Childcare is closed and all afternoon/evening activities are canceled. Code Red for Staff: Non-emergency employees are not to report to work. All emergency personnel report as directed. 

Charles County Public Schools: All schools and offices will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2026. There is a Code Red for Charles County Public Schools (CCPS) 12-month staff who follow the code system. When schools are closed, there are no CCPS after-school or evening activities. Visit the CCPS website, www.ccboe.com, for the most up-to-date school system information.

King George County Schools: Closed, Tuesday, January 27, due to poor road conditions and the lasting impact of the recent winter storm.
Code 1 for 12-month employees.The safety of our students, staff, and families remains our top priority. Please continue to monitor official school communication channels for updates.

Prince George's County Public Schools: Tuesday, January 27, 2026 - Thursday, January 29, 2026 | CODE YELLOW | Schools are closed. All Offices are closed. Emergency personnel only must report to work. Meal distribution will open...Meal distribution will open at the following five locations on Wednesday from 11am - 1pm: Drew-Freeman MS, Fairmont Heights HS, Greenbelt MS, Laurel HS, Surrattsville HS

St. Mary’s County Public Schools: Schools and  offices will be closed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, with a Code 3 for employees. No employees should report to work. Administrative leave will be provided for twelve-month employees. Operations and Maintenance Emergency personnel will follow the established protocol.

St. Mary's College Of Maryland: Due to continued icy conditions on campus and on many secondary roads, the campus will remain closed on Tuesday, Jan. 27. All classes and activities scheduled for that day are cancelled or postponed. The Great Room will be open for all students, regardless of whether you have a meal plan. Calvert County Government:  Offices will be closed Tuesday, Jan. 27, due to inclement weather.The following Calvert County services are affected by the closure:
· All Calvert County Government offices and the Circuit Court for Calvert County is closed.
· The Appeal Landfill, septage receiving and all county convenience centers are closed.
· County transportation service is not available.
· All county Parks & Recreation activities, rentals and programs are canceled.
· Community centers, parks, the Chesapeake Hills Golf Course and the Edward T. Hall Aquatic Center are closed.
· The Linda L. Kelley Animal Shelter is closed.
· Calvert County senior centers are closed and Meals on Wheels will not be delivered as meals were delivered in advance of the storm.
· The Calvert Marine Museum and Museum Store.
· Calvert County Health Department offices are closed. Calvert Crisis Response will be available by calling the crisis hotline at 1-877-467-5628.
