Colin McDaniel SMAC Blog

The SMAC high school football is scheduled to get underway tomorrow. Our first broadcast of the season is scheduled to begin at 7pm tomorrow evening when Calvert host Leonardtown. After a long off season both teams are looking to get their 2019 seasons off to a good start with a week one victory. This year starting your season with a victory is very important because every team in the conference has gone from a 10 game regular season to a 9 game regular season, so the hope of making the post season with a 500 record is no longer a possibility, and of course the start of a new season means some schools have new coaches and this year Leonardtown has a new head coach Justin Cunningham, while Rick Sneade to returns for another season as the head coach of the Cavaliers . Those are just a couple of the changes in place for the 2019 season make sure you tune to the broadcast to hear about all the changes this year.

On another note for the third straight year the weather looks like it could play a factor in the week one games. With that said school officials are paying close attention to the forecast. If the weather doesn’t allow for the game to be played tomorrow as scheduled the game would be moved to Saturday evening while we hope to play tomorrow if the game is moved to Saturday, we will be sure to update start time information as soon as possible.

You can listen to each broadcast all season long on 1690AM or the through the listen live feature here on our website. You can also take the broadcast with you anywhere you go with 1690 WPTX app that you can download for free from the app store or google play.

Have a great night and we will talk tomorrow at 7pm.
